I’m in Las Vegas this week getting up to speed on the latest and greatest from Zscaler at Zenith Live. The mantra so far has been Zero Trust + AI is going to change the security world, and Zscaler wants to be a leader. Zero Trust and AI are such huge buzzwords right now, but there is a lot of validity to leveraging these technologies to enhance security solutions. It seems like Zscaler has quite a few cool things cooking that will help customers not only with security as it relates to SASE but also by potentially leveraging their visibility into traffic to give customers actionable intelligence to make their businesses more efficient by understanding app utilization among other things.
Zscaler is well on its way to being a powerhouse in security far beyond their traditional SWG roots. One message I greatly appreciated from the CEO Jay Chaudhry was an acknowledgement that Zscaler will be one of several security tools an organization will have – some other SASE vendors are shooting for full platform plays and are often insisting they are the only security vendor you need. In my experience that is not likely the best move for any organization, large or small.
To a large degree Mr. Chaudhry was being humble – the steps Zscaler is taking to enhance their platform such as their acquisition of Airgap and development of their Zero Trust SD-WAN (both of which I will touch on in the near future) will allow many customers to greatly reduce the number of tools they are using, far beyond what Zscaler has been able to do in the past.
I’ll be providing a more detailed write up on my thoughts regarding Zenith Live and Zscaler’s future at the end of the week. Until then stay secure!
